For the last 20 years I've worked as a professional filmmaker and have made many hundreds of films for most major brands and became fascinated by people - having directed many short documentaries.
I started to reign this in once having children as I wanted to be more present - a hard thing to achieve in the film industry. So I now focus more on my hobby - photography.
I’m fascinated with how we interact with our environment and each other. How our inner narratives, self-perception and vulnerabilities inform how we present ourselves. We have a tendency to hide whilst also being multi-faceted, evolving and we often mean and show different things to different people.
I strive to capture more in my photography than just the person. A little like how fashion photographers think. When photographing women, I prefer themes of empowerment, strength and wisdom even if these stem from vulnerability. My favourite photographer is Helmut Newton.
